Hotel Monastere Maastricht

4-star hotel in a converted 14th-century monastery, steps from Maastricht's historic center

History & Design

Hotel Monastere Maastricht occupies a fully restored 14th-century monastery, where original stone walls and vaulted ceilings meet contemporary art installations. The lobby's central staircase is a modern steel sculpture that contrasts with the ancient brickwork. Guests can explore the inner courtyard and the original chapel structure, now integrated into the public spaces.

Dining

Café Louis sources ingredients exclusively from local Maastricht partners for its French cuisine menu. The breakfast buffet includes fresh breads, cheeses, deli meats, and daily egg dishes with vegetarian and gluten-free options. In the evening, the intimate bistro and cocktail bar serves wine and champagne from regional producers.

Accommodations

Each of the 46 rooms at Hotel Monastère Maastricht has a king-size bed with a pillow menu and a private bathroom with a rainfall shower and separate toilet. Rooms are equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, a flat-screen TV, and individual air conditioning. The Suite offers a private balcony and extra space for families or longer stays.

Location

The hotel sits 2100 ft from Vrijthof Square, home to the Basilica of Saint Servatius and the Andre Rieu concerts. The Basilica of Our Lady is 1 mile away, and the Maas River is a 10-minute walk. Maastricht-Aachen Airport is 9 miles from the property.
